Our Story

Jamie Daniels, Owner/Broker

My dad, Jim Daniels, purchased his first piece of real estate in the late 1960's while attending the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. After sprucing it up, renting it out and selling it at a profit, he was hooked. He started The Daniels Companies in the late 1970's when I was very young, originally focusing on real estate sales and eventually evolving into property management.   With him doing the property management and my mom, Lila Daniels doing the accounting, they made and grew a successful business that became the go-to for property management in San Diego's East County. 

As for myself, I attended Cal State University Long Beach and majored in Human Development with an emphasis in Gerontology.  While social work is noble, gratifying and my passion it didn't afford me the time I wanted to spend raising my family so I joined the family business in 2003 when my kids were very young. 

My kids grew up watching our family work together as well as celebrate life milestones together. Over the last few years with my dad working less, and my kids away at college, I have steered the business into a more boutique-style, full service management company that specializes in single family homes. I enjoy advising on the state of California's legal requirements as well as the financial aspects (budgeting for short-term and long-term maintenance and upgrades) of income property ownership to owners and ensuring quality and fairness to tenants.  The balance between owner profitability and tenants' enjoyment of their home is the central focus.

When I'm not working, my wife and I love trying new restaurants around town, especially in our beautiful La Mesa village. I’m also an avid reader and volunteer regularly.

When time allows, we enjoy road trips to visit the kids at their respective schools in Northern California.
